Hancock Strikers FC

Organization:

The Hancock Strikers FC is a non-profit organization that was legally established in 2010 for the purpose of teaching and promoting the game of soccer in the South Shore/Metro Boston areas.

What we offer:

We offer year round club level training and league play for a select few age groups at a fraction of the cost of most club teams. We are able to do this due to the generosity of our coaching staff and volunteers as well as support from local businesses. For players and parents that are new to club soccer we hope to be able to help you navigate the system. Our Board has put many children in various club systems and has developed contacts and perspective that we can offer in meeting your player's soccer goals.

Players can try out for one of our teams, participate in our skills training alongside our teams, attend summer camps, specialty clinics, and winter futsal leagues.

Vision/Goals

It is our goal to inspire young soccer players and increase their love of the game of soccer by providing them with an opportunity to improve as players, athletes, teammates, friends, and leaders by promoting a pursuit of excellence through hard work and perseverance.  We know that soccer can play a very critical role in the development of our children physically and psychologically, but just as important is the development of good character traits such as commitment, hard work, cooperation, honesty, and integrity.  Our hope is to guide players to reach their full potential on the soccer field and in their lives.

How we got started

The club was started in 2010 with one team coached by Don Martin and Gerry Hanley.  The goal was to provide a competitive "club soccer experience" at town soccer prices. The team was a big success and other coaches and players who share the same values and ideas on player development soon joined.  Very quickly the club grew from 12 players to about 80 in 6 months.  Much of the growth comes from word of mouth support from players and parents that appreciate the training, knowledgeable coaches, commitment to player development (not the club's profits ), and price structure.

We hope to be able to continue to grow, but work on the premise of quality over quantity.  We are not designed to be a big club and we do not promise scholarships and college commitments, but players in our program get better, learn a great deal about the game, and will have opportunities to play at whatever level that is appropriate for them.
Hancock Strikers FC is a non-profit 501( c) organization dedicated to teaching youth players the beautiful game of soccer.
